I like how you have articulated something I felt but couldn’t describe. I’ve had peers at work and school that shared common traits with me but I disliked them. For example, I worked with people who waited until the last minute to start major projects. I vowed to never do the same thing myself, but realized I was the same way 15 years ago.

These co-workers are helping me avoid relapsing into behavior I once thought was acceptable. Obviously it’s acceptable at my workplace because no one really cares how the sausage gets made, but I find co-workers useful to learn from because they often mirror traits I have, had, or traits I may be developing.

We can learn so much about ourselves from those around us.
