Thanks for writing about tech and legal. From my experience in law, I have come across a number of problems that were not being solved. As I moved forward to solve them with a startup, I ran into the problem of finding customers.

If the idea is that good, or the need is that strong, then I think the approach of a landing page and MVP will work. Because people will be interested in your rough draft.

As others have commented here, it is expensive to outsource your development if you are footing the bill. But you don’t have to DIY it either. Here, it helped he found an investor and development team.

Fundamentally, it was the lawyer’s technical and industry knowledge that probably got this ball rolling. In tech startups, that’s a non-technical founder. But that is still technical, or I suppose, subject matter expertise that is not easy to come by.
