What kind of job are you referring to when you say people work order when they see others working hard? My job was sitting at a desk in an office reviewing evidence and writing memos and motions. Most of my interactions were by phone. I might have walked down the hall to hand my secretary a paper. And then popped into a colleagues office to say hi and take a break.

When I had face to face meetings, they were in conference rooms with a whiteboard. I miss that part the most, talking in real time without audio lag.

But I think I’m more productive than I was before by working from home. Yes productivity goes up but creativity drops.

I still think teams need to have a weekly meeting in person. But there was nothing productive or creative having to sit at a desk 8 hours reading and typing.

I don’t mind coming in on scheduled in person meeting days.
